Women's Day Celebrations

Report of International Women's Day Events

The celebrations at Janki Devi Memorial College marking International Women’s Day, were held over two days on the 3rd and 4th of March. A number of associations and societies of the college came together to organize events at several venues simultaneously to make it a packed calendar.

The second day’s panel discussion on rape and the inadequacy of laws to deal with the menace of rape had a packed house with students spilling over into the corridors. The discussions were charged with emotion and it took the Principal’s passionate, forceful yet balanced comments to sum up the people’s reaction to such distressful incidents in society and to calm the audience.

The Photo exhibition and stalls displaying products made by women’s from unprivileged sections of society also saw huge footfalls.
