Nritya also conducted a bollywood dance workshop on 9th August 2018 for students and the faculty members at the college.


Nritya competed in the Western Group Dance Competition at Manthan’2017 of New Delhi Institute of Management on 17th February 2017 and bagged first position. Team also secured first position at Razzmatazz’2017 of Rukmini Devi Institute of Advanced Studies on 18th February 2017.




EVENTS HELD IN 2016-2017

Performed in “MISS JDMC” on 17th September 2016

NRITYA started its session by performing at Miss JDMC which is a personality competition of our college. 28 members were a part of this performance. Team performed on a mash –up of old and latest songs. It was a good start of a session as the audience cheered for the team throughout the performance.



Organised various Flashmobs on different occasions

NRITYA has been on the forefront of organising fantastically coordinated and well acted flash mob in the college on different occasions to create enthusiasm amongst the crowd. One of such occasions was Diwali Mela which was organized on 26th October, 2016 in the college.
On 23rd November 2016, team took up the Mannequin Challenge and prepared a video for the promotion of “Footloose- Western Group Dance Competition” to be held in our annual college fest “SYMPHONY 2016-17”.



NRITYA has also organised a flashmob on 9th January 2017 to promote the star night in SYMPHONY with Guru Randhawa. The performance included all his latest tracks.



Organsied workshop for teachers and students on 20th October 2016

NRITYA organized a one – day Bollywood Dance workshop for the students and teachers to explore the World of Dance. 60 students along with 5 faculty members participated enthusiastically in the workshop. It was a great success.



Organised Footloose- Western Group Dance Event in SYMPHONY

Footloose was organized on 12th January 2017. Around 40 teams registered for the event. After the video prelims around 20 teams were shortlisted for the final event. Judges for the event were Mr. Anubhav Sharma, well- known choreographer and Mr. Nishant Sharma, founder and director of Dancing Mantras- Dance and Fitness Academy. NRITYA gave a marvelous performance in the beginning of the event, followed by which rest of the teams competed. The winners were-

I position – MISBA (Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce, University of Delhi)

II position – VENKY (Sri Venkateshwara College, University of Delhi)

III position – ELECTRA (Motilal Nehru College, University of Delhi)

Participation in various Competitions

NRITYA has participated in many western group dance competitions held at various colleges across Delhi and NCR such as LSR (prelims), PGDAV (prelims) and JIIT.

NRITYA has qualified the prelims round of Shivaji College and Gargi College, University of Delhi held on 15th January, 2017 and 6th February, 2017 respectively.
NRITYA has also bagged 2nd position in the competition at Bhim Rao Ambedkar College held on 3rd February 2017.
