TALENT HUNT 2019

On 11th September 2019, Students' Union of Janki Devi Memorial College, University of Delhi organized Talent Hunt competition with great enthusiasm.

The event began with Nitya Kumar (President, Students' Union) facilitating Principal Ma'am, Dr. Swati Pal. She addressed the gathering with her warm and beautiful words thanking the Staff Advisors, Ms. Sanjukta Naskar and Ms. Meenakshi and Students' union for conducting and managing the event so well.

Honourable Judges Ms. Rida Fatima, Ms. Anjana Natrajan student of 3rd year and Ms. Sipoo Jaiswal were given a token of gratitude by President, Vice President and General Secretary of Students' Union.

The competition constituted of three rounds.

Round 1: Introductory Round.

Participants were given a few minutes to introduce themselves and present their hobbies and interests.

Round 2: Talent Round.

All participants were given two minutes to impress the audience and the judges with their special talents. Dancing, singing, acting and live painting were some of the talents showcased with filled with power and grace.

Round 3: Question Answer Round

Different questions were asked from each contestant to analyze their personalities.

They were asked to put up their views towards society and current situations

Philosophy Department Invited Lecture Series 2019-20

The Department of Philosophy will be hosting invited lectures on August 22nd, 2019 from 11 a.m to 3 p.m. Details of the invitees-


  • Mr. Ravi Kalra – He is the founder of Earth Savior Foundation and has been taking care of the elderly and mentally disturbed people, abandoned by their families.
  • Dr. Kheya Bhattachaya- She had joined the Indian Foreign Services in 1985 after obtaining her Masters in Molecular Biology from Columbia University, New York and completing her

Phd in Molecular Biology from Indian Agricultural Research Institute. She was awarded a Gold Medal for her thesis and her research work published in scientific journals. Dr. Bhattacharya have served as an Ambassador(Grade 1, equivalent to Secretary to Government of India) of India to Morocco from 2016-2019, she had seen a pivotal phase of India- Morocco relations, following the high level visit from Morocco to India for participation in the India Africa Forum Summit- III, in October, 2015. In these lecture series, various important ideas and concepts which has touched upon human lives in many ways will be revisited.
