73rd INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS


The students ofJankiDevi Memorial College organized a cultural programmeon the 14th of August 2019 to commemorate the eve of Independence Day. The Indian Classical Music Society of the college SARANG, and the Music department of the College presented some beautiful and soulful musical compositions before the audience. A group performance was followed by a duet which really brought out the essential spirit of the relevance of freedom and the unity of the nation.

The Principal, Dr. Swati Pal, also joined the celebrations with great joy and enthusiasm. The handmade flags made by the Cultural team of the college and badges were distributed to the Principal, teaching staff, non-teaching staff and students.

The English debating society RHETROQUE in collaboration with ABHIVYAKTI, the Hindi debating society of the college also conducted a DECLAMATION COMPETITION on the very recent topic "REVOKING OF ARTICLE 370" and "MY IDEA OF NATIONALISM". Students in great number participated in the competition and a rigorous but healthy exchanges of ideas took place.Dr Swati Pal listened to the speakers with all attention and participated in the prize distribution ceremony.

The Gandhi Study Circle conducted a postcard making competition titled 'Change 150' in which students participated by providing innovative ideas that they would think of in bringing about the change that they would like to see in today's world. The event also commemorated the 150th birth anniversary year of Mahatma Gandhi.

Overall the variety of events brought together a sense of togetherness, meaningful discussion and provoked the creativity of the students of Janki Devi Memorial College.
