Activities conducted by the Department of Physical Educatiuo9in Workshops and Coaching Course:

1. Inter College Football Tournament (2016-17): The department successfully organised Inter College Football Tournament (womenís)as the Delhi University Sports Council calendar 2016-17event under the convenor ship of Dr. Abha Jain. JDM College football team secured 2nd Runners Up position in the same tournament.

2. North Zone and All India Inter University Training Camp: A selection cum training camp was organised under theconvenor shipof Dr. Abha Jain to train and select the Delhi University football teamfor North Zone and All India Inter University Tournament at Kurukshetra,Feb. 6-10, 2017and Chennai, Feb. 22-March 2017 respectively. Dr. Abha Jain accompanied the team as the Manager;Delhi University team that secured 1st Runnerís up trophy at Zonal level and reached Quarter-finals stage of the All India level.

3. Delhi State 6-A-Side Hockey Tournament: The tournament was conducted under the direction of Dr. Abha Jain (Tournament Director) from June 24-25, 2017 with a view to give an opportunity and better exposure to the girls to play and learn the dynamics of the game. JDMC Club Hockey team secured 2nd Runnerís up trophy in the tournament. Ms. Nisha was the Tournament Co-ordinator.

4. Senior National Futsal Training Camp: The training cum selection camp to select the Delhi state Futsal Team for Senior National Futsal Tournament was held at JDMC Football grounds under the charge of Dr. Abha Jain from Dec. 10-24, 2016. 7 players of JDM College were selected in Delhi team that won Runnerís up Trophy at the tournament held at Jaipur from Dec. 25-29, 2016.

5. Prime Minister Cup Football Tournament: A training cum selection camp of conducted to select the team for the National level PM Football Cup from May1-12, 2017 at the football fields

6. "D" License Coaching course (exclusively for women footballers): It was conducted with Abha Jain in Charge of organization and coordinating the resources in collaboration with Delhi Soccer Association and All India Football Federation from April, 2016. Total 24 participants comprising students, teachers from different schools and College including Dr. Abha Jain and 5 students of JDMC, Football professionals took part. Mr. Shakti Singh, an Assistant Coach, Delhi Dynamos Football Club and ďA- LicenseĒ qualified Coaching Instructor, AIFF was the Course Director.

he 7 days course included theory and practical classes along with the ICT Classes for 6 days culminating in a Theory and practical test at the end to determine the effectiveness in learning and understanding of the coaching dynamics of the game. The laws governing the game were looked at and discussed in detail in theory and ICT interactions with the help of several videos and demonstrated in the practical class to make understanding clear with test of COACHING SESSION and the theory test the end. 23 participants passed the 7 Days coaching course successfully and were awarded the certificates by Mr. Haneef Mohammad, Ex. Member, Delhi Soccer Association.

7. Beauty and Banking: A skill development training workshops/ conference was organised in Janki Devi Vocational College, Delhi from 17-20 July 2017. Ishaa Sandhu, a student of Melbourne University; the recipient of Davis Peace Project 2017 was the Project Director and Dr. Abha Jain was the Project Assistant and Research facilitator cum Coordinator for the conference. This conference is part of the Davis Project for Peace 2017, which aims to develop peace through developing sustainability and life skills among Women the influential contributor in the family systems. De-monetisation in India has bearing on working women from lower and lower middle classes. Female financial independence is crucial to bridge the vast gender inequality that exists in India; it has prolonged effects on the children of such families who require financial reinvestment. The conference aims to develop skillsamong females to prepare them to meet life situations

8. 1st Refresher Clinic for Volleyball Referees: Conducted with the Collaboration of Delhi Volleyball Association. Total 50 participants including students, teachers and coaches in different schools and Volleyball Professionals took part to learn and refresh their knowledge about the game in an interactive workshop conducted over 3 days. The workshop was the first of its kind to focus on a very important but neglected part, that is, the umpiring aspect of the game. The laws governing the game were looked at and discussed in detail and demonstrated in the practical class to make understanding clear with a short test at the end to determine the effectiveness of the course. 90% qualified the test and were awarded the certificates by the President, Delhi Volleyball Association and Executive Member, Indian Olympic Association, Mr. Kuldeep Vats.
