Student Progression

Real time assessment of students progression level

The EVS department is using real-time ICT assessment tools like quizizz and smart board lectures to assess the learners' awareness and progression level.

The assessment is based on the live learner-centric MCQ based quiz sessions where students take part as individuals or as a team.

Such assessments also promote teamwork and healthy competition among students.

Green Educator Award 2024

The Department has a practice of organising its annual Academic audit. This process involves a systematic evaluation of teaching, research, and extension activities carried out during the year. It aims to ensure that academic standards are maintained and to identify areas for improvement. The audit process includes the preparation of reports, data analysis, and interaction with faculty members.

The department actively maintains its own YouTube channel, which serves as a platform to share academic lectures, seminars, workshops, and student activities with a broader audience. Google Classroom is used as an effective tool for sharing study materials, assignments, and announcements, ensuring smooth communication between teachers and students. The department integrates the use of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) to enhance teaching-learning processes through multimedia presentations, virtual discussions, and online assessments. These tools help in promoting interactive and engaging learning experiences while bridging the gap between traditional and modern education.

The Department occasionally organises workshops on pedagogy to strengthen teaching skills and methodologies. These workshops focus on innovative teaching practices, learner engagement strategies, and the use of technology in classrooms. Experts from academia and industry are invited to share their knowledge and experiences. Such sessions provide a platform for faculty to exchange ideas and address teaching challenges. The initiative contributes to improving the overall quality of teaching and learning in the Department.

The department has completed a project on plant identification and the generation of QR codes for the Biodiversity Trail in the college campus. Each plant species was scientifically identified, documented, and tagged with a unique QR code that, when scanned, provides detailed information about its common name, scientific name, ecological significance, and other relevant facts. This initiative promotes environmental awareness, self-learning, and appreciation of campus biodiversity among students and visitors, reflecting the department’s commitment to conservation education and the innovative use of technology in environmental sciences.
