Physical Education Department offers GE courses to all Honours and Programme students in first, second, third and fourth year and VAC Courses to all students in first and second year.
Promoting Universal Values and Ethics - Through the sessions on Yog, meditation and fitness, it's a conscious effort to emphasize to not just the students but all who care to attend - to inculcate right choices, habits, lifestyle and thereby promoting universal values and ethics of living a conscientious and meaningful life.
An effective teacher is able to diagnose students learning needs and always try to get feedback not only on the act of teaching, but also on the results of teaching. She knows how to develop a positive climate in the classroom in order to make it a stimulating learning environment. We always seek an opportunity to share - what we have learned and to inspire those young and fresh minds.

- Internal assessment - Home assignments, projects & class tests scores and answer sheets are shown to the students within 15 days to resolve the grievances, if any.
- Regular mentoring and guidance - provided to students with special academic needs and care.
- Individualized attention to all students - to help them with their learning process.

- Conduct courses and seminars on Sports, Fitness and related areas like – Career Counseling, Fitness, Wellness, Yoga and meditation, Courses on Coaching License and Referee/umpiring in specific games, Sports Psychology etc., to equip them with adequate skills and techniques to further increase and improve their career options in future.
- Conduct multiple training cum selection camps every year to give platform to promote excellence among young women of Delhi in various age categories in as well as to prepare the JDM college sports girls for national and inter university tournaments in various games like Football, Handball, Hockey, Taekwondo, Volleyball
- Organize Inter-College and state competitions in collaboration with Delhi University and respective state associations of various sports and games every year to give platform and right exposure for the students of college to achieve excellence in their chosen sport/game.
- Organize our own Inter-College competitions in various sports and games for the students of college every year since 2019 - Janki Cup
- Conduct Inter-Department competitions in various games to identify and nurture talent to prepare them for participation in competitions at higher level in their chosen sport/game.
- Mass Participation for college students & staff – Annual Sports Day for staff & students every year.
- Sports, Health and Fitness Programmes - Overall health and well-being through Aerobics/Zumba, Yoga etc. to combat physical & mental health issues arising out of forced confinement for two years of lockdown at homes due to COVID pandemic. Issues of mental, social and emotional health- anxiety and panic in family and society due to over and extended exposure to negative news all around.
- Daily training sessions in morning/evening by qualified coaches in specific sports/games for preparation for participation and achieving excellence in Inter-College, State, Inter-University and national/international tournaments.
- Providing daily refreshments, sports kits, equipments & safety kits relevant outdoor games, indoor games for all students, hiring the services of qualified coaches and trainers in team sports/games, First aid, regular career and general counseling to all the college girls, who join college on sports quota and as well as other interested students of college, who undergo regular sports training.
- Organize outdoor excursion and adventure trips for sports girls to inculcate in them the right values, a sense of responsibility and sensitize them about environment friendly practices. To encourage them to adopt such habits that will help them lead a socially responsible, nature friendly and healthy lifestyle.

Add on Course on Yog as Preventive healthcare during COVID 19 Pandemic
As a part of its capacity-building initiatives, the Department of Physical Education offered a month workshop cum add-on course on "Preventive Healthcare - Anxiety and Stress Management through Yog during COVID Pandemic" in May June 2021.

Dr. Tarun Routhan
Curriculum Development
Prof. Abha Jain and Dr. Tarun Rouhan were associated with curriculum content designing for Generic Elective Courses in Honours and discipline subjects in Programme courses.
She also developed design and content for First Aid and Safety Measures Training (FAST) Course, an add-on course for students of JDMC specifically for sports girls to help them develop soft skills and deal with any emergency on road, public place or at home.
